Being fans of both the Derby and bourbon the Mint Julep is one of our favorite drinks and only times we agree that it is ok to mix bourbon with…well anything except water. As a favor to our loyal readers (all 3,000 a month of you) we did God’s work and tried a bunch of different recipes so that we could make a suggestion for you all.

“I’m not going to lie that smells like pure gasoline.” Those are the words that go through your head when you pull the wax off the top of a bottle of Booker’s. I guess I should have known to expect a stout bourbon when the guy working the cash register at the bottle store said I better buy some bottled water to go with it. Some background info is in order.
