Am a fairly new Bourbon drinker. Enjoy Blanton’s and Maker’s neat.

When trying something like Bookers where it is recommended to cut with water, how do you detirmine how much water to use without watering down the drink?

great stuff! I first tasted it at the distillary tour. i prefer it neat as well.it definatly stuck with me after it was down!

Bought this on a whim while on a work trip in St. Thomas for about $10. Brought it home to drink with some friends and we all found it fairly smooth at first, actually, but felt more burn as we went on. Solid stuff, altogether.

I’d say you’re score is pretty spot on. Nice review!

Sounds like a really interesting drink, though from your description of the finish I’m guessing it was even more intriguing than you were able to put into words. Will have to give this one a try.

I typically list Elijah Craig 18 Year and BH at the top of my list, but the 12 Year is plenty delicious.

Just spent a long weekend at the Bourbon Festival in Bardstown and I have to say that, of all the amazing bourbons I tasted, BH and Elijah Craig 18 Year were the best. BH has always been a favorite of mine.

I would also agree that a bourbon should not be watered down with water or ice, but that’s a personal preference. Since the widely-held proper way to test taste bourbon is to take a small snifter of it neat, swirl, put the glass under your nose and breathe in through your mouth, I think that when you drink it, it is best tasted without anything else in the glass.

As always, it’s personal preference and opinion. Ultimately, it should be enjoyed, and that is up to the enjoyer.
