While not 100% reliable, a good rule of thumb is:
Bars with a human skeleton riding a motorcycle on top of their bar are a good place to drink bourbon.
Make a baby boomer happy, drink Old Charter in a room that smells of rich mahogany. I decided to try a taste of Old Charter on a recent trip to see my parents.
It should be no surprise that a political town like D.C. has a place or two with a decent bourbon selection, but none is better than the aptly named Bourbon.
Thanks to Uncrate for the heads up on Wild Turkey’s new “super premium” bourbon. This must be the next logical step in the small batch bizarro arms race. Who knows if this stuff is any good (and full disclosure I am not a big Wild Turkey fan) but the bottle is definitely cool.

"I'm not going to lie that smells like pure gasoline." Those are the words that go through your head when you pull the wax off the top of a bottle of Booker's. I guess I should have known to expect a stout bourbon when the guy working the cash register at the bottle store said I better buy some bottled water to go with it.
